It's that time again, time to think about termites. When the warm weather starts waking up all of the sleeping insects on, and around, your St. Louis property, termites are going to start to become active again--assuming they stopped being active at all. That means now is the time to start thinking about termite protection. The team here at Rottler Pest & Lawn Solutions would like to invite you to take part in Termite Awareness Week, March 11th through the 18th of 2018.

Why Termite Awareness Week Is Important

The reason subterranean termites are so destructive is that most people don't know what is necessary to stop them. During Termite Awareness Week, consider sharing the following termite control facts with your friends and family on social media.

Termite Control

  • Subterranean termite workers are relentless. If there is a hole in your pest control barrier, these insects will find it. It is unwise to think that spraying pesticides around the foundation perimeter of your home will keep termites from feeding on your equity. The Sentricon® System with Always Active™ uses this relentless behavior against termite workers and their colonies. When workers come to feed on a home, they are sure to find the bait and bring it back to their queen. When the queen dies, the colony dies.
  • Subterranean termites leave few signs of their presence. When mud tubes are created, it is often in dark, hard-to-see locations on the foundation of a home. Sentricon® with Always Active™ makes it easy for professionals to detect these destructive insects.
  • Subterranean termites feed on the inside of wood beams and studs. Arresting an infestation with insecticides is extremely difficult. Sentricon® with Always Active™ contains a bait that is scientifically proven to be more interesting to termites than wood. When workers take the bait, they share it with other workers through a process called trophallaxis. This allows the active agent to get to workers deep inside the wood of a home.

There are many misconceptions about how to protect a home from subterranean termite damage. The experts here at Rottler trust the Sentricon® System with Always Active™. It is an eco-friendly solution with decades of real-world success. Please consider telling your friends and family this Termite Awareness Week. Together, we can raise awareness and help families in St. Louis and beyond avoid the heartache of catastrophic termite damage.
