Termidor He Mini Series: Mike Rottler, Rottler Pest & Lawn Solutions
This post officially kicks off our Termidor HE Mini Series—a series of posts from Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) from around the country sharing why they use Termidor® H∙E High-Efficiency Termiticide Copack with Termidor HE Technology and the benefits it provides their customers. Read on as Mike Rottler, President and CEO of Rottler Pest & Lawn Solutions, talks to us about what Termidor HE means for his business.
Over the years, Rottler Pest & Lawn Solutions has developed a reputation throughout St. Louis, Missouri and the surrounding area as a company that can handle a tough job—even the jobs nobody else wants.
We started using Termidor® termiticide/insecticide shortly after it hit the market and we’ve done well with it. It’s been an effective tool for us in reducing callbacks, helping grow our business and improving our reputation.
When Termidor HE Copack came out, it made sense for us to try it. We’ve been using Termidor for years and know that product well. Our distributor drove down to the BASF office and picked some product up the first day it was available. We’re happy with Termidor HE Copack. It’s easy to use, and customers prefer that we use it over other products because the treatment reduces much of the disruption, digging, and drilling around the home compared to other termite treatments.
I like that with Termidor HE Copack, you can cut your water usage significantly. Carrying water with the rising price of fuel is a challenge.
Only needing 50 gallons of water for a termite application rather than 150 or even 200 gallons (for deep foundations), technicians might now be more comfortable filling water at the customer’s home. This saves time, effort and hassle.
Termidor HE Copack only requires holes to be drilled every 18 inches, rather than the 12 inches required with other products. This saves time, especially in situations where there is a lot of concrete to drill through. And, of course, the homeowner is happy with less drilling because it’s less invasive.
For example, if you’re treating a 300 linear foot house and 50 percent of the outside has some sort of pavement or hard surface, drilling time can be significant with products that require 12-inch spacing. If it takes you 30 seconds to drill a hole through concrete and you have 100 holes to drill, that’s 50 minutes of drilling. Termidor HE Copack can create a significant time advantage by reducing the amount of drilling by 33 percent.
We treat a lot of basements in Missouri and we have a fair amount of crawl spaces. A product like Termidor HE Copack is helpful because the work and time is more involved than working with a slab structure. Again, this makes our treatment applications more effective and efficient.
I think it’s great BASF developed Termidor HE Copack because it shows BASF is committed to help grow the business and make pest management a better business to be in. The previous Termidor formulations are great products. But that didn’t keep BASF from working to improve it. I appreciate that.
