attic insulation being blown in

Spring has almost sprung. It won't be long till you're out in the yard raking up twigs, collecting unwanted items in the house and putting them on the side of the road, organizing the flower beds, planting perennials, and making the backyard nice for the warmer weather. It won't be long until your yard comes back to life and you're cooking meat on the grill, playing badminton, throwing horseshoes, splashing in the pool, playing lawn darts, smacking the croquet ball through all those metal hoops, or playing catch with a frisbee or baseball. But you're not the only life that will start to happen in your yard. All the bugs and animals that seemed to disappear in the fall will begin to come out again too.

When the topic of insulation comes up, the first thing we think of is saving on our heating bills. Sometimes, we may even think of all of the savings we will have on our summer cooling bills. A good layer of insulation is definitely going to be a plus for both of these. Even if you already have insulation in your attic, adding another layer, and filling in all of the gaps, can make a huge difference on your energy bills. But the insulation we install does more than keep the heat in your home during the cold winters, and the heat out during those hot summer days. It will also protect your home from pests.

Bugs and animals are about to become active again. If they haven't already gotten into your attic spaces, there is more of a chance that they will. An active bug is an exploring bug. When they crawl all over your exterior walls, it is only a matter of time before they crawl under the bark of your home and find an entry point.

The same is true of wild animals. Squirrels, mice, rats, and other animals will be scampering around in your yard a lot more when the temperatures rise. This could have them running across tree branches and leaping onto your roof. It could have them chewing on your roofline, eaves, or soffits. If they find a way in, you want them to immediately feel unwelcome.

With new insulation from Rottler, your home will be ready for the hot summer days. And this summer you'll be able to keep more of your hard-earned money in your pocket. But it will also be protection from all of those bugs and animals that are going to start "coming back to life," so to speak. The insulation we use kills bugs and deters animals by soiling their bellies. That also means there is no danger if you have pets. Pest insulation keeps bugs and animals out of your attic space, and makes your home and your family safer.
