Recently, the Federal Healthy Homes Work Group identified 8 top characteristics for a safe and healthy home. This Work Group is a collaboration of many different Federal departments and organizations, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Environmental Protection Agency, among others. It has been determined that people spend about 70% of their time inside their residence, which means that the condition of a home is a large factor in a person’s well-being. The health of millions of people in this country is affected by unhealthy and inadequate housing and the Healthy Homes Work Group got together to determine the essentials of a healthy home.
The Healthy Homes Work Group came up with these 8 characteristics of a healthy home:
4. Contaminant Free
5. Well Ventilated
6. Well Maintained
7. Thermally Controlled
8. Pest Free
All of these characteristics are important factors for keeping you and your family safe and healthy. At Rottler, we know how important it is to have a home that is safe and pest free for your family and that is why we offer home pest control services in St. Louis and elsewhere in Mid-Missouri. This program helps to eliminate pests that may be bothering you and then help you maintain a pest free environment throughout the year. The Signature Protection program is all-inclusive, targeting common household pests as well as mice, rats, stinging insects and even termites. The program includes an initial inspection that focuses on the exterior of the structure, where most pest problems originate. As part of your on-going services, we will return every other month to inspect for pest activity and treat the exterior of your home. Interior treatments may also be provided if needed at no additional charge.
With the considerations of the Healthy Homes Work Group in mind, Rottler wants to remind you that keeping your home pest free throughout the year is good for you, your family, your home’s structure as well as your peace of mind.
