Do you have family traditions? Are there things you look forward to doing with your family each Christmas? Do you pack your family into the car and go to a Christmas tree farm to select a tree and cut it down yourself? Do you get bundled up and go out to sing Christmas carols at the nursing home? Do you bake Christmas cookies with your kids and take them with you to hand out to family and friends? There are lots of Christmas traditions we take part in. While the ones mentioned above are pretty specific, there is one tradition that most families can relate to, putting up lights. We string them around our trees. We hang them from our walls and from our door frames. And, if you're ambitious, you may even hang them on the outside of your home. Those are the lights we're going to talk about today.
When it comes to stringing up lights around your home, the way you and your family do it is probably unique to your family. It might be your tradition to do it right after Thanksgiving dinner, when everyone is together, or you might schedule to do it on a specific day before the weather starts to get cold. You may do it up big or you might just string lights on your bushes or mailbox. No matter how big you do it, and even though those lights are going to look magical once the job is done, it is still a chore. And, with any chore, frustration can creep in. You can probably relate to gathering the whole family together to string the lights up but, after 15 minutes, you're there by yourself finishing the job or trying to tackle a fight that has broken out. You have probably dealt with searching for decorations and untangling strings of lights in the freezing cold. There is also a good chance you're familiar with the aches and pains that come with climbing a ladder over and over again, and twisting into odd shapes to get those pretty lights where you want them to go.
While all of those twinkling lights help to make the season bright, they can be a real pain. But, they don't have to be. If you have Rottler Pest & Lawn Solutions take care of your exterior lighting and decorations this Thanksgiving, you can enjoy your time with family on the inside of your home, while we take care of all the decorating work outside your home. And getting your Christmas lights in place now means all you have to do is flick them on when you're ready to start sharing the Christmas cheer. How great is that!
